Temple Hill Academy Welcomes Marine Veteran and District Alumnus Natalie Rostran-Butler
Temple Hill Academy proudly welcomed district alumnus and United States Marine Corps veteran Natalie Rostran-Butler for a special Veterans Day presentation that inspired and educated students about the importance of service, dedication, and community.
The event opened with a patriotic performance by Ms. Versweyveld’s second-grade class, directed by music and choral teacher Ms. Blair. Their voices set a patriotic and respectful tone for the morning.
During her visit, Ms. Rostran-Butler shared her personal educational and career journey — from growing up and attending schools in the district, to graduating from college, and ultimately serving her country as a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps. She offered students an engaging overview of the six branches of the armed forces, highlighting the purpose and contributions of each.
She also discussed how military personnel support not only their local communities during times of crisis — such as providing relief and assistance during severe weather events — but also offer worldwide aid in times of need.
Students were captivated by her stories and had the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions about military life, education, and the importance of service.
Temple Hill Academy extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Natalie Rostran-Butler for returning to her home district to share her experience, inspire our students, and remind us of the commitment and courage of those who serve.
